Really Jesus LTC

April 3rd – Who Was Jesus…Really?

The historical Jesus will be considered at Lifetree Café on April 3 at 7:00PM.

The program, titled “Who Was Jesus—Really?” features a filmed interview with Greg Stier, author of Outbreak, and Rick Lawrence, author of The Jesus-Centered Life.

Both men share their insights about the historical Jesus and what influenced their conclusions about the identity of Jesus.

Polls indicate a large majority of Americans believe Jesus walked the earth. But a smaller percentage say he should be considered the Son of God.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their own thoughts concerning the identity of Jesus.

Faith Science LTC

April 17th – Faith and Science

The often-rocky relationship between faith and science will be discussed at Lifetree Café on April 17 at 7:00PM.

The program, titled “Faith and Science: Discoveries From the Scientist Who Led the Human Genome Project,” features a filmed interview with Dr. Francis Collins, a world-renowned geneticist noted for his leadership in directing the human genome project.

“For me as a scientist, there are aspects of what we have learned about nature that seem to be pointers toward God. Not proofs, but pointers,” says Collins. “The fact that the universe seems to have a beginning is crying out for some explanation of how you can go from nothing to something.”

True Beauty LTC

May 1st – True Beauty

People’s perceptions of beauty will be considered at Lifetree Café on May 1 at 7:00PM.

The program—titled “True Beauty: Is It Really Only Skin Deep?”—features a filmed interview with MeLisa Mounsey, a woman who survived an incident that burned over 95 percent of her body.

During the interview, Mounsey recalls the painful event.

“I can still see it in my mind’s eye today,” Mounsey says. “Gasoline dripped off my little finger, the next moment there was a loud whoosh, and I was engulfed in flames.”

Later in the episode, Mounsey explains the challenges she’s faced in learning to accept herself and how the incident has shaped her view of beauty.
